Vertigo: A Sonnet
The course of the universe pulling you
In a candid motion you didn’t sign up for
When will it stop? You won’t have a clue
You’ll try so hard not to drop to the floor
Five, ten, fifteen seconds
The clock won’t be able to determine
I’ll hold on to my nerves until this madness ends
Stagnancy will be a light that gleams
Someone stop me from screaming
No, no maybe not
So that my voice could reach someone else’s hearing
And hopefully catch me when I drop
When vertigo comes I have only one wish
That in the arms of my love I will be leashed.
